You hear on the news about the need for teaching youngsters how to stay safe on the Internet. You know about the dangers of identity theft. But, despite all the information regarding criminals trying to take advantage of you and your family in cyberspace, are you really playing it safe. When was the last time you took advantage of anti-spyware and ad aware removal?
You may lock you doors to keep crooks from coming into your house, but what are you doing to keep dishonest people from entering your safe zone through your computer? Are you really safe?
You may actually feel like you are computer savvy and know how to protect yourself when online. But, unbeknownst to you, the home/work desktop computer or laptop has been invaded by spyware and adware. In other words, can you say with absolute certainty that you are totally safe when you are working, surfing, or playing online?
For example, just today, I download a freeware alarm program to my computer, so I could keep appointments. I visited a reputable site that I have used many times in the past. However, when I executed the program, I soon realized I had received a freebee. Now, at the grocery store, two for the price of one is a good deal. In the cyber world not so much!
While the auxiliary program may have been just fine, I am not willing to take the chance. So, I immediately uninstall both computer programs and all the files that may have been attached. I truly believe in the old adage of “Better safe than sorry”.
So, if you begin to see more ads popping up than usual, and products or services seem related or more frequent than other advertising, you may have a problem. You may be infested with spyware and adware and not even realize the sanctity of your privacy has been invaded. Remember, the seemingly relatively innocent annoyances of ads may not seem like a big deal, but the programmer may also have the malicious intent of accessing your personal information, for the purposes of identity theft.
So, before you adopt a false sense of security, you need to understand the necessity of anti-spyware ad-aware removal. Programs are available to help you protect your computer. Nevertheless, be proactive and take care of yourself. Remember when you want to download a program: when in doubt, go without.
