With so much spyware out today, chances are people may not even determine or care on their names. To most people they are all alike. Stalking horses for one are unsolicited spyware that usually comes with programs prior to being installed. They usually originate from programs that come from downloads or supposed compressed files in lieu of the official ones being offered in the market today. The stalking horse goes to work whenever you see ads every now and then popping on your computer.
Some people may think that this is a form of publicity stunt to get companies more recognized. It would have been better if the stalking horse spyware were that simple. But on the contrary, this form of infection serves as a potential gateway to most adware networks to penetrate your workstation and do their thing. On whether people are content with that kind of a setup is surely debatable. No one in his right mind would want to make his desktop an ad farm so it is better to be careful.
To determine the ads being sent by Stalking horses, just be open-minded when it comes to what you see on your desktop the next time around. Be suspicious of programs that you install. With logic in mind, just imagine why ads would be installed along with software given to you. Further, why would they be irrelevant from what the software is? Unless of course there are deals made. But why on licensed software that is fully purchased?
There are many ways to distinguish the stalking horse spyware. Some may not care but once you experience slow down and certain computer system malfunctions then perhaps people will take note. Remember, it is not every day you get hitched by these mischievous spyware. You just have to be careful and choose what you install. Licensed programs do not usually include ads to go with fully purchased products. That alone should be enough to ask you why pop-up continuously recur.
